Altona Test Suite - Application Kit
Altona Test Suite is a joint project of the State Federation of print and German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm), the European Colour Initiative (ECI), EMPA/Ugra and the research institution print e.V. (Graphic Technology Research Association).
Altona Test Suite consists of a set of PDF-files, specially designed for testing digital output devices in particular, proofing systems as well as conventional and digital printing systems.
Furthermore, Altona helps to control the compliance of PDF/X-3 specifications and colour accuracy for all software and hardware components in a composite-PDF-workflow for print production.
The user package consists of
- 7 printing conditions,
- 16 numbered reference prints,
- 15 test forms,
- 7 standards of colouring
as well as all characteristical data, ICC-profiles and documentation.
During the last update with "Measure" and "Visual", 5 further standardised printing conditions have been added:
Newspaper printing (1) and gravure printing (4), including all relevant characteristical data and profiles.
