Publication PSO

The PSO publication offers 193 pages of know-how for the entire printing process. First of all, measurement and control devices that are necessary to standardise the production process are being introduced. The handbook explains when to use a densitometer a colour-measuring device or a picture analysing device, how to correctly interpret measuring results, to create characteristic curve and much more. Furthermore, the handbook describes how and under what conditions objects are being colour-matched, how to maintain a working colour management and what impact the printing carrier has on these processes.

After a short overview over the entire process each single process step, film editing, conventional and digital print plate production, according to standard proof and press-proof and ultimately the print run are looked at a little more closely. It is described how to set up each individual sub-process so that one keeps complete control over the results at all times.

Clear spreadsheets help to find particular nominal and actual values. Pre-printed worksheets help to create own spreadsheets and characteristic curves. A glossary for quickly looking up special vocabulary rounds off the handbook.
